Una meravigliosa serata ricca di suoni, colori, sapori e profumi dall’India, con ospiti eccezionali!

Questo evento rappresenta un punto di incontro tra il progetto musicale di Nicolas Delaigue e Nihar Mehta e la spiritualità universale dell’antica India che riunisce sotto la parola sanscrita “RASA” un insieme di esperienze (musicale, filosofica, spirituale e gastronomica) che coinvolgeranno completamente i partecipanti.

Rasa nella concezione estetica artistica denota uno stato mentale essenziale e l’emozione dominante di un opera d’arte o il sentimento principale che viene evocato nella persona che ne fruisce. Il termine rasa indica anche un piacevole stato sentimentale, reso ‘gustoso’ dalla combinazione di diverse emozioni.

Anche nella scienza dello spirito rivelata nelle sacre scritture vediche rasa denota un particolare sapore, o una nettarea relazione divina che si sviluppa tra l’anima individuale e Dio.

Per i ricercatori spirituali rasa è quella sostanza di cui ogni essere vivente è assetato, la sostanza divina che può placare la sete di ogni anima.
Le Svetasvatara Upanishad dice: “Srinvantu visve amritasya putra: siete tutti figli del nettare! Per cui svegliatevi, alzatevi e cercate! Soddisfate la votra necessità più profonda!”

Sripad Bhakti Kamal Tyagi Maharaj è nato a San Francisco nel 1984. Dopo aver completato i suoi studi universitari in America ha deciso di dedicarsi completamente alla vita spirituale e quindi ha vissuto per diversi anni nell’ashram del suo Maestro, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj, nel Bengala Occidentale (Navadwip Dham) dove sotto la sua guida affettuosa ha studiato le antiche sacre scritture vediche, il bengalese antico e il sanscrito.

Nel 2004 ha preso gli abiti monacali e nel 2010 ha abbracciato completamente l’ordine della rinuncia (tridandi sannyasi) del Vaishnavismo Gaudiya che contiene l’essenza degli insegnamenti spirituali di tutte le tradizioni religiose. Ha curato e pubblicato diversi libri, e tiene numerose conferenze, presentando le istruzioni delle scritture rivelate con un linguaggio accessibile al pubblico odierno in tutto il mondo (America, Brasile, Venezuela, Messico, Colombia, Inghilterra, Irlanda, Germania, Ungheria, Francia, Olanda, Turchia, Sud Africa, Malesia, Singapore, Nepal, Russia, Ukraina, Cina, Filippine, Banglades, India).

Il suo entusiasmo è contagioso, la sua erudizione è incredibile nonostante la sua giovane età e la sua umiltà arricchisce ulteriormente la sua personalità.
Nihar Mehta comes from one of the foremost and respected families of Philosophers and Musicians of Ahmedabad. His great grand father late Diwan Bahadur Narmadashankar Mehta was a well known vedantist and Philosopher of India. His grand father late Yashodhar Mehta was a Barrister and prominent Philosopher, Novelist and Astrologer of Gujarat. The family is also active in teaching and promoting Indian classical music through their well known Music Institute “SAPTAK” in Ahmedabad, founded in the year 1980 by his Uncle & Guru Late Shri Nandan Mehta.
Since music was in the family, it became a second nature for Nihar and right from the age of 12 he started learning Tabla from his from his uncle Nandan Mehta and Pt Puran Maharaj at SAPTAK School of Music Ahmedabad. Nihar’s Uncle Nandan Mehta and his Father became Kishan Maharaj’s disciple in the year 1954. Nihar was hence inspired and received guidance time to time from his dada Guru Pt.Kishan Maharaji. He is presently the disciple of Pt. Pooran Maharaj.
Since 2002, Nihar is based in Nice, France. He has performed in prestigious venues and festivals in Europe such as Musée Guimet- Paris, Musée des Confluences Lyon, Musée des Arts Asiatiques- Nice, Musée Historique de Lausanne in Swiss, Fondation CINI of Venice, Museo di Luccae, Museo d’arte Contemporanea di Lecce & Lissone, Fondation of Alain Danielou, Fondation Europea del Designo of M. Valerio ADAMI, Centre for performance research. Aberystwyth, Wales, ACANTHES, Metz by M.Claude SAMUEL, Festival Borealis in Bergen Norway, Pro-Gitar Festival in Munich & Munster, Germany, Indian Embassy in Berlin, Festival of 5 continents in Martigny, Swiss, Festival Arts Republic in Salzburg, Austria, Asian American Heritage Festival in Chicago and University of Milwaukee U.S.A, Conservatory of Nice, Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai ect to name a few.
Nihar has performed regularly on the All India Radio and Television as ‘ B High’ grade artist since 1996. He regularly performs with well known artists of India like Ustad Shujaat Khan, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Pt. Krishna Mohan Bhatt , Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Partho Sarothy, Pt. Shubhendra RAO & Saskia RAO DE HAAS, Pt. Amarnath Mishra ect to name a few. Nihar is active in promotion & development of Indian music in Europe by organising Concerts, Workshops & Master Classes with well known artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Shujaat Khan, Pt. Pooran Maharaj to name a few.

Nicolas Delaigue is a performer and a teacher of Sitar and Classical Music of North India ( Hindustani). He is today a reference in Europe in the performance and the teaching of this music. Due to his atypical path, and after years of full immersion, practice and total dedication to this art, he has succeeded in creating a link between India and west. Living in Lyon (France) since 2011, he have an activity of international concert performer – Europe, India, North Africa -and has performed in prestigious places such as the Musée d’Orsay (Paris), the Casino of Monaco-Monte Carlo (Monaco), the Maison de l’Inde (Paris), the Music Festival of Seibtla (Tunisia), but also at the Satellit’ Café (Villerest), the Festival Planet Music (Nanterre), the Festival « Les Jeudis des Musiques du Monde » (Lyon), the Music Festival of Richelieu, the Pamparina Festival (Thiers), the Abbey of Sylvanès and many festivals and theaters in France. He has performed also in India in publics and private recitals specially in Nashik and Kolkata.
Nicolas Delaigue was trained in the Hindustani Music during numerous years by great masters of the sitar (Ustad Shahid Parvez, Indrajit Banerjee, Patrick Moutal, Sugato Nag) and he has succeed to make a stylistic synthesis of the teaching received.
Always searching new horizons, he has introduced or collaborated in numerous experiments around the music and the traditional arts of India. He have collaborated with Ronu Majumdar and Indrajit Banerjee for the music of ” The Dance of the Devil ” (Gallimard, 2010). He has created the Duo Sanchari in 2007 with whom he has recorded an LP in 2008. He is also a member of the band Trio Milana. Nicolas has explores in soloist or in band many various musical world such as Afghan Ghazals, Indian traditional dance Kathak, Rabridrasangit, Afghan instrumental musics, flamenco, electronic musics, rock music, European medieval music…).
Nicolas also works in association with the world of cinematography and films, and was regular accompanist of silent movies in the auditorium of the Museum of Orsay (Paris). His music accompanies the movie « Cast a Bhuta Bronze Mask » (film by J.C Plattner, Museum Rietberg- Swiss).
Nicolas has teached the sitar and the Indian music since about fifteen years in public, private and associative structures mainly in France, and he is regularly invited in diverse cultural and educational centers for masterclass, workshops, educational support, jury member (Cité de la Musique – Paris, Higher National Conservatory for Music of Paris, CEFEDEM Rhône-Alpes, Conservatory of le Grand Chalon). Holder of the French State Diploma of Traditional Musics, Nicolas has a deep experience and reflection on the musical pedagogy, and he teaches the sitar and classical indian music all year long to numerous students in Lyon, and in Clermont-Ferrand (Horizon-Adema school).
